Visa Requirements & Entry
Most foreign nationals require a valid visa (except Nepal/Bhutan). India offers an e-Visa system for many countries. Apply online prior to arrival. Ensure your passport has at least six months’ validity.
Arrival Instructions
If you have a pre-arranged transfer, look for a Trans India Holidays sign with your name outside the Customs Hall. The area can be crowded, so look carefully!
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive Travel Insurance prior to your trip, covering accidents, medical expenses, baggage loss, and cancellations.
Baggage & Clothing
Domestic flight allowance is typically 15 kgs for Economy. Comfortable cotton clothes are best for the climate. Laundry services are widely available.
Food & Water
Savor regional cuisine! Drinking local tap water is NOT recommended; use bottled water even for brushing teeth. Bottled water is cheap and readily available.
Tipping Etiquette
Tipping inspires great service. A general guide is $4-5 daily for your driver and a similar amount for your local guides.
Electricity
Operates on 220 volts. Rounded two-or-three-pronged plugs are most common. Adapters are widely available.
Communication
Wi-Fi is common in hotels. Local SIM cards/eSIMs are easily available at airports for affordable 4G/5G connectivity. Roaming charges can be high.
